Users of Internet Exploder, UNTIE!

It has recently been brought to my attention that IE has issues with my CSS code. I have recently validated this concern. This is not my CSS code’s fault, but rather IE’s inability to follow protocol and correctly observe and implement W3C Standards. So, in the spirit of smiting all operating systems coming from Redmond, Washington, I propose that you solve this by doing one or more of the following:

1. Download and install Firefox. You will be a happier websurfer, prone to fewer virus attacks, not to mention spyware and adware.

2. Download and install Opera. No, it’s not a fat lady singing, but you may think that the folks up in Redmond are hearing something rather like that after you install and try Opera. More tastiness like Firefox, but to get it ad-free, you have to pay. Oh, and they’re resistant to Adware and Spyware too.

3. Get a Mac. The bundled browser with OS X is Safari, and the feature set is similar to Firefox and Opera, not to mention that again, CSS and W3C standards are observed and followed to the letter. Also of note is the fact that Firefox and Opera are also available for the Mac, along with several other Mozilla based browsers.

So, as you can see, I’m a bit cynical of the efforts put forth by the folks who maintain IE. Their inability to “keep to the code” need not ruin your experience here at Untergeek.com

It’s a bit late for a reply, but…

Hear, hear.

I’ve been working on my own website recently. I put in some perfectly good CSS – which Firefox handles very well.

What did IE do? It froze my windows box until I could find a way to kill IE.

You can’t. It’s intricately tied with the operating system. You just need to run Firefox or Opera instead of IE when you want to browse the web.
